In this post I would like to focus on the need for motivation in any form in our life. To be happy, to achieve the goal, to feel good and live a wonderful life we need to get motivated at some point in life. Without motivation the daily routine becomes so burdensome that we start losing our interest and there comes the downfall in our productivity. Motivation helps to overcome the challenges in a positive way. It makes your ride smooth if you're going through some bumpy road.
One of my friends pointed out what's the need of motivation and shared a clip in which a celebrity is saying that motivation doesn't get you the result , it's the consistency which brings you the desired fruits. He gave an example of the Army by saying that "you see they never work on motivation , they work on consistency". They do regular practices on a consistent basis without looking for any kind of motivation even though it's boring but their consistency helps them to win. If there comes a sudden war, it's their regular practice which is going to save lives. He added, you don't get motivation daily.
Further it was stated by him that " The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding". He meant to say that the only thing which can bring you the desired results is the effort of doing the work consistently, you cannot escape the hardwork.
I totally agree with this but you cannot ignore the role of motivation. In my opinion every Army and their regiments have some of their own motivational slogans and war cry which they used to get motivated throughout their practice sessions. Their disciplined practice help them to thrive and bring perfection in their skills.
Army slogans vary by country and unit, but common examples include the Indian Army's motto,
"Sewa Paramo Dharma"(Service is our prime duty).
The Indian Army is motivated by a blend of intrinsic and extrinsic factors, including a strong sense of patriotism, national pride, and a commitment to serving the nation. This is supplemented by extrinsic motivators like respect, a sense of purpose, job security, and benefits, which contribute to a soldier's overall dedication and resilience.
I strongly believe that motivation acts just like an alarm clock which we set to get up at a specific time early in the morning so that we can get ready on time to do our daily work consistently without any delay. After a few days we unknowingly start getting up at the very same time without any alarm as our mind gets stimulated for the exact time when we daily wake up using the alarm clock. Similarly, the motivation stimulates our mind accordingly. It remains for a few days until it fades away and you start feeling bored doing the same thing again and again. This is the point where you need another dose of motivation. The effect of this motivation dose lasts for some time and creates magic in your life.
Pouring motivation is just like watering a plant , it's like providing the sunlight needed by a plant to grow well. Motivation brings freshness into your life. It brings courage to restart something new and try something different. It helps to improve the quality of life. It is like railway track which provides a proper direction, a solid medium for smooth movement of the train (our life).
So I can say " motivation brings consistency and consistency brings the desired results".
Motivation works at the base to push you up. This motivation could be in any form around you, from a tiny thing to the autobiography of any successful celebrity. I find nature as the biggest inspiration which motivates to live at a different level and think differently. The only need is to have a crisp grip on your focus. Once you start believing, you will get motivated even from small things which get Incorporated into your mind and do the work of uplifting you to go for the hardwork to get the desired results. This motivation will automatically boost you on a regular basis and bring a required consistency. Few people develope passion for self motivation and do not depends upon others to boost their functionality. Even they start helping others by setting a perfect example of how to get self motivated.
From the literature it is evident that all those writers and poets all get motivated from nature and the people around them to create many famous pieces of literature. Motivation stands to fuel you so that you perform your best in whatever you do. It works as a catalyst which enhances the speed of our work, it beautifies the way of doing things, changes the perception and incline you more towards the positive side of every situation. You start looking for goodness and enjoy being a positive thinker after a meaningful motivation from any source around you.
Let's see the effect of motivation on our mind and thought process.
When you see or listen to something positive and motivational, your brain releases several neurotransmitters associated with pleasure, reward, and well-being.
The primary chemicals involved are:
1. Dopamine: Often called the "feel-good" or "reward" neurotransmitter. Dopamine is a crucial part of the brain's reward system; its release motivates you to seek out those positive experiences again.
2. Serotonin: This chemical contributes to feelings of happiness and well-being and helps stabilize your mood. Motivational content can boost serotonin levels, helping to counteract negative feelings.
3. Oxytocin: Sometimes referred to as the "bonding" or "love" hormone, oxytocin is released in response to social connections and positive human interactions, which can be simulated when hearing inspiring stories of connection or triumph.
4. Endorphins: These act as natural pain relievers and mood elevators, producing a feeling of euphoria.
5. GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid): While not providing a direct "high," GABA helps calm the brain, reducing stress and anxiety, allowing the positive messages to be received more effectively.
It's a combination of these chemicals working together that produces the uplifting, energetic, and positive feeling you experience when motivated .
From all these facts I strongly believe that motivation works very effectively and plays a significant role in shaping your life. At the same time do not cage yourself just to feel good . You need to be action oriented and be consistent in what you are doing in order to achieve your goals. Once again I must say motivation is your alarm clock which awakens your consistency and consistency brings the desired results.
