Touch The Sky With Glory (Sanskrit: Nabha Sparsham Deeptam) ✈️
Dear reader have you ever heard of this phrase earlier.
This is the motto of our Indian Air Force (IAF) and is so inspiring and motivating. Being an Air Force Brat I would like to share about this super inspirational, powerful and motivational motto. Let's dig up some info about this motto.
ORIGIN :
This phrase was picked from Bhagvat Geeta,Chapter 11, Verse 24. This is a divine description of Lord Krishna as seen by Arjuna during the Teachings of Geeta (Geeta Upadesh). In this phrase Arjuna is describing his vision of Lord Krishna's overwhelming, universal form (vishwaroopa). Here Arjuna is addressing Shri Kishana, saying he sees a form of Lord Krishna that is effulgent, multi-coloured and "touching the sky with glory."
ADOPTION:
Post Independence on April 21, 1959 when the then President Dr. Rajendra Prasad approved this motto for the IAF.
MEANING:
This motto significantly used by IAF to aim to use the air power to overcome adversaries and defend the nation from enemies. This motto inspires every IAF person to deal with any capacity of attacks or troubles during war and regular practices as well. They always keep their morale high and touch the sky with glory just like the vast vishwaroopa of Lord Krishna.
SIGNIFICANCE FOR A COMMON MAN :
This motto inspires us to be courageous, disciplined, and soaring to new heights in life and learning, much like the air warriors who protect the nation's skies with honor and skill. It's a call to embody their values of dedication, valor, and striving for excellence in all endeavours, not just in military service.
The motto reminds us to rise above challenges with courage, discipline, and determination. As we salute our air warriors who guard the nation's skies, let's also take inspiration to soar higher in learning and life.

When I asked AI that how we can incorporate this phrase "touch the sky with glory" into our day to day life , I got these super cool points as an answer ๐
That's a super inspiring phrase, isn't it? Incorporating it into daily life can be pretty simple, actually. Here are a few ideas:
- Start your day with a motivational mantra: Wake up, stretch, and say "Touch the sky with glory" to kickstart your day with positivity.
- Set ambitious goals: Break down big dreams into smaller, achievable tasks, and remind yourself to "touch the sky" with each accomplishment.
- Practice gratitude: Reflect on your blessings and achievements, and strive to "touch the sky" with kindness and appreciation.
- Face challenges head-on: When faced with obstacles, tell yourself, "I'm gonna touch the sky with glory" and tackle them with confidence.
The phrase “touch the sky with glory” is poetic, so in day-to-day life it works best as a mindset and habit, not something literal. Here are practical, healthy ways to live it out:
1. Use it as a personal standard
Let it remind you to do your best, even in small things.
Finish schoolwork with pride, not rush.
Put full effort into practice, chores, or projects.
“Glory” here means self-respect, not fame.
2. Turn it into a daily intention
At the start of the day, quietly tell yourself:
“Today, I’ll try to touch the sky with glory by giving my best.”
This helps you aim high without pressure to be perfect.
3. Connect it to growth, not comparison
“Touch the sky” doesn’t mean being better than others.
It means being better than yesterday.
Learn one new thing, improve one skill, or correct one mistake.
4. Use it to push past fear
When you feel nervous—raising your hand, trying something new, speaking up—remember:
Growth feels scary because it’s high, like the sky.
Courage is part of glory.
5. Reflect on it at night
Ask yourself:
What did I do today that made me proud?
Where did I try, even if I didn’t succeed?
Effort counts as glory too.
6. Express it creatively
You can keep the phrase alive by:
Writing it in a journal or notebook
Turning it into art, a poster, or a phone wallpaper
Using it as a theme for a poem, story, or song (your own words)
7. Link it to kindness
True glory isn’t just achievement.
Helping someone
Standing up for what’s right
Being honest when it’s hard
These are ways of “touching the sky” that last.
Now you see this IAF Motto is how meaningful, life changing and inspiring.
Don't forget to share it further among your family and friends ๐ค
